Fall Fun

My First Political Observations
Last night, Mommy woke me up at about 11:00 at night to hear a speech by Barack Obama. Mommy tells me that he was just elected the next President. Mommy also said that someday I will know how important this is for our country given our history. She also says that, in a weird way, I will never fully understand what it means and she is happy about that. (Can someone explain that later??) President Obama and I have a couple of things in common: we are both boys and we are both biracial. Oh, we also both have Mommy's with white skin. I doubt I want to be in politics when I grow up but Mommy said that if I do, I can have President Obama as a role model for how far I can go. Mommy and I don't agree with every last thing that President Obama says, but we agree with a lot and we are hopeful about what his presidency means for our country and even the world.
But most importantly, Mommy reminded me that our hope is not in our President or any world leader. Our hope is in Jesus Christ from beginning to end. So Mommy and I have agreed to pray for President Obama and this country every night. Won't you join us?

My 11 Month Birthday!
Can you see it yet?
(Do you like my talking mouth?)
Yep. That's right. Climb the stairs. And I'm fast too.
Mommy says it's dangerous . . . blah blah blah. Why does she always try to ruin my fun??
My other favorite thing is to make noise. Anyway anyhow anytime. That's right. The banging of the kitchen cupboards is my personal favorite. Of course, Mommy says it will really be "fun" when I figure out I can take everything inside OUT. Maybe I'll try that this month.....
I also decided in the last week that after almost three months of Army crawling, I would try it the "normal" way. Is Mommy calling me strange??
Finally, I must tell you that one of my favorite things (much to Mommy's delight) is reading my Bibles. I have several of them. What can I tell you? That have great stories and pictures.
[Amen! -- Mommy]
