Heard Around our 'Hood and Some Pics

Finally some warm days around here led to much fun while I was at work.

Interesting how it appears they get along when I'm NOT around.  Grr.

Today we ran some errands and Leah insisted on this:
I promise I did not suggest she wear the fancy hat....
She's so girlie sometimes!  :)

In other news, Seth and I recently had a conversation that went like this:

Seth:  Mommy, we go to church a'morrow?

Me:  Yes, Seth.

Say "TO"

Seth:  To

Me:  Say "Morrow"

Seth: Morrow

Me:  Tomorrow!

Seth:  One-morrow!

[Not funny.  Okay, a little funny....]

This afternoon, out of nowhere, Seth declared it reading time.  He got his beanbag and a book and sat down.  I was so stunned I almost missed the photo op.  Because, you know, as soon as Seth called it, Leah grabbed a bean bag and joined him.  They crack me up!!

That person....

Do you ever find yourself wishing you were "that person" or "that girl"?

Like the person who stops rush hour traffic with his SUV so you can cross without standing in the rain any longer?

Or the woman who has the confidence to look fantastic whether wearing a full face of makeup or none at all -- the love of Christ shining on her face?

Or the family who joyfully chooses to adopt a "lifer" (a child who will never leave home)?

Or the employee who loves her job and bounces out of bed every morning to tackle the day?

Or the mom who has endless patience for children gone wild? ;)

Or the couple who chooses to give not just a Biblical tithe (10%) but more like 30% (or 50???) because of God's blessings on their life?

Or the young man who leaves his home and his family, selling everything, to serve the least of these as called by God?

Yea, me too.

What person is God challenging YOU to be today?

This and That

It was a busy week....

.... and finally a bit (bit) warmer!

This resulted in the first of many "water fun" evenings.
Um, if your brother can relieve himself in the yard, you probably want to too!

Filling buckets, emptying buckets, soaking the porch....
Ah.... summer!

Then there is Leah, pushing her baby around everywhere!
 What a good mommy!
And Seth.  With is new obsession.
The hose!
And just this week, for the first time, Seth decided that he CAN put his shoes on himself.  Yay!  Way to go buddy!!!!
Our furry friends are busy looking for ways OUT.

One of Leah's favorite riding vehicles is the push car.
Little did I know who her favorite driver is....

And let's just say "slow" is not in his vocabulary!!
Watch out!!!!
Saturday we went to Monkey Island.
It was supposed to rain and we (Seth) needed to RUN.
 And climb.
 And climb some more.

 And bounce.
 And giggle.

 And jump.

 And belly flop!

Check out this "ladder" and the rope to pull yourself up!
Atta boy....

 And slide.
Over and over and over.

Needless to say, three hour nap after that trip!  Ha!  Score one for Mommy!

Sunday was kids' day at White Sox park, so on Uncle Joel's suggestion, off we went!

What is it about cotton candy that's so delicious?
Um, sugar???
What!?!?!  I don't like fire works!!!
 Dude, I LOVE fireworks!  :)

Grandma and Papa were there too!
And baby Peyton...

On our way to the car, this street performer offered lessons.
Hey, Seth is really good!!!

 Of course, so is Leah....

After a very long day, it's back home for a late dinner and BED.
 With our sunglasses, of course!

Thank God for our SWEET family.  We missed you Biddles and Dave!!!
