Just over a year after Leah came home, the kids and I started to talk about whether there were any more children yet to come to our family. I wasn't sure at the time, but I did have an open mind to it. Seth began, in January 2012, to pray with boldness about the brother he believed God had for him. We talked about it for a month or so, and then it got dropped.
Around April 2012, Seth prayed at dinner for "his older brother", asking whether "he" was here yet. Um, no. And continuing into June, Seth and I had regular arguments about his older brother. I told him that he may have a brother but that he is a YOUNGER brother -- about Leah's age. Seth wasn't buying it.
In the midst of these conversations, in early July, three different people reached out to me on the same day about the same six-year old boy in Uganda. Is he yours? Or, do you know his family? Hmm. I started to pray. I asked my sister Moreen to visit him in western Uganda. All reports/signs were pointing to YES.
In August, we announced our intention to adopt "Vincent" from Manna Rescue Home in Uganda. Here is one of the first pictures I saw of him.
By October, we were already on our way. Six weeks later, we landed home with my precious oldest and last (yes, last) child. Zechariah Asaba Vincent Steiner.
Love.
