Leah's Orphanage

Last fall, a little boy arrived at the babies home where Leah lived.  He was clearly cared for -- by someone -- prior to arriving.  My friend Keren loved on him for months and pushed one of the social workers to trace his background.  Nothing happened.

While Keren and her family prayed for and loved on this baby, the battle continued to find his family with Keren offering to do the work herself in the face of inaction by the social worker.

Finally, just a few months ago, Keren got to review the boy's file and learned that the birth mother's name WAS IN THE FILE THE WHOLE TIME.  Ugh.  Keren immediately started searching for the boy's family and without too much hassle, she and the head social worker found his father.

To make a longer story short, the boy went home with his daddy just a few weeks ago and you can read about it here and here

Keren and I have been talking about Leah and the complete lack of tracing that was done for her parents, although we do know she was abandoned at birth and that alone will make tracing very difficult (impossible?).  Keren is right to tell me that someday, Leah will want to know as much as possible.  To that end, we are looking for Leah's family.  Any family.  I feel some fear about the whole thing but I know that's not from God and I'm trusting Him to make all things new and perfect for us and Leah, in particular.  This could be a HUGE blessing!  We intend to travel to Uganda often to visit (and who knows what the Lord has for us down the road) so having family there would be awesome!  Just one more excuse to visit all the time!

Anyway, will you pray with us that we are able to find some of Leah's relatives?  It would mean the world to me and certainly to her too.

Ns*mbya Babies Home

Last week, we visited Betty's former (yay!) home and gave those babies some gifts!!!
We had a blast and so did the kids.
The boys got cars and trains....
See these blankets and pillows?  Made by a suh-WEET family in the states, for the benefit of Morning Star Orphanage.  Oh how the kids love them (and Leah loves hers too!!).

Your generous giving has SURELY benefited some kids!!!
