First Day of School

I wish I could say we have been preparing.
But alas, we have not.  The first day completely snuck up on me.
 So without fresh haircuts and sans new clothes, we busted out for the first day.
In true Seth fashion, he slept in for the first time this summer.
Zechariah was in my bed snuggling by 6:30.  I know that little man has been EXCITED to get back to it.
Once Seth was up, the spinning began.  And I mean spinnnnninnnggg.
Let's just say he was a wee bit nervous excited anxious.... all of it.
Oh boy.
Seth managed to settle enough to eat a bit and nearly had a melt down when he couldn't find his toothbrush.
But then we were off.
I was fine on the walk to school and we giggled about leaving Batman at home and the *fun* they would have during the day.
As we walked to Z's class line, I felt it start welling up.
I gave him a big smooch and set off to find Ms. Volz's line.
As we walked, a teacher yelled out to me, "That's right, Mom!  It's not about you today!"
*&$#%@
Why did I wear this stupid shirt today???
We found the line and found the THREE girls from our block who are in his class.
We met them at the block party on Saturday.
{blessing}
Once inside, I could hardly hold it back.  We put his things in his locker.
*He was SO excited by this time*
We found his desk and name tag.
Everything was done except the sobbing.
I watched while he joined circle time and noticed {again} what a BEAUTIFUL thing it is that he has only 18, EIGHTEEN, children in his public K-1 class and a teacher who I just want to HUG.
{sigh}
Thank you, Jesus.  Please let it be a beautiful year.
So after a summer of whining and complaining that he would NEVER go to Kindergarten and would stay in First United Nursery School forever, Seth marched into his new school like a champ.
Way to go, boys.  Here's to 2013-2014!!!
