Heard Around our 'Hood

Four year olds have quite a lot to say, I've learned.  And Seth has had some doozies of late.

After Eryn died, we talked about how she was with Jesus.
Dancing.  :-)

A couple of days later, we were in the car when Seth said, "Mom, is Eryn in my heart?"
(Um, not sure what to make of that one.)
What, dear?
"Well, Jesus is in my heart, right?"
Yes, I pray so.
"And you said Eryn is with Jesus, so is Eryn in my heart?"
(sigh)
Yes, Eryn is with Jesus.
(See how I dodged that one???)

Then there was the time that I told Seth that my heart was broken.
"Did Jesus get hurt, mom?"
What?
"When your heart got broken; did Jesus get hurt?"
(oh dear)

Last week, I was exhausted from work and other life "stuff" when I asked Seth what he wanted for dinner.  I was literally hoping he would say "icecream" because I was prepared to give into it and have icecream for our entire dinner.  (Don't judge)
Instead, Seth declared, "Broccoli, white fish and rice."
And so it was.

Seth also (apparently) believes that any child who he enjoys might just need a mom.  At church on Sunday, he was asking if every boy he saw needs a mom.
"Mom, he doesn't have a mommy?"
"Mom, he needs a mommy?"
Apparently, my son would like a brother.
Ya think??

Then there was Leah who, when asked how old she is, thought about it, paused and said, "Well, I'm not SIX."
True that, my dear.  True that.

Last, we had a particularly nice dinner on Sunday when Seth refused to put on ANY clothing to eat.  I think 90 degrees must be his clothing limit.
Oh well.
We fight on.....

What a treasure! So glad you are blogging them...cause as much as I thought I would remember all the cute things they have done/said...not many come to mind anymore...

PS We have ice cream for dinner every now and then...{never when Daddy's home, not cause he's a health buff mind you} but it just does that soul good every now and then {and if ya put enough stuff on it, it *could* cover the basic food groups, right?
