Leah, OHHHH LEAH!

Safely in Maryland, we had an emergency trip to the ER.

I'll tell ya, our life is not without drama!

Especially lately, and frankly, I'm over it.

Monday, we got up, played around and laid around.
Late morning, we headed to the mall to walk and play some more.

After the mall playground, we hit the food court for some Chik-fil-a.
YUM.

Leah was happy and eating and being her usual two-year old self.

Near the end of lunch, she put her head down on the table.

Hmmm.

I thought she was tired.
It was definitely nap time and she had played hard.

When she looked up, she was mad.
And crying.

I shoved one last piece of chicken in her mouth.

Yea, I'm like that.

As she cried, Kathryn picked her up and snuggled her.

A moment later, the puking started.
And didn't stop for 40 minutes.
*at least*

Poor Kathryn must have felt like she needed to shower for days.
She caught half of it.....
(Not.Even.Kidding)

By the time we got home from the mall, I put Leah in the bath tub but she was incapable of sitting, walking or holding up her head.

I yelled for Lisa and handed her off.

Moments later the seizures started (or continued)
and I was on the phone with 911.

Leah was conscious but completely out of it.
Several of the people at home were hysterical.

(I won't say who...)

When two ambulances (and a police officer) arrived, Leah was still seizing.
Frankly, it didn't look good.

The paramedics were all over it and didn't even freak out she is positive.
Nice.

So to cut a long story short, we went to the hospital.
Got admitted.

She had a CT Scan, MRI, chest xray, urinalysis, and a ton of blood work.

My only (okay, not only) beef about the hospital was that it took four nurses 30 minutes to find a vein on Leah.
Come on people.
Isn't this your specialty????
Ugh.

In lighter news, the people there were GREAT about her positive status and I am grateful we didn't have to face or fight that issue.

Anyway, all of the tests came back clear.
Praise the Lord!!

We don't really know what caused it but we are rejoicing THAT trial is over.....
.....we pray....

In better news, we got Leah's birth certificate just before we left.
In honor of this not-so-perfect situation,
let's CELEBRATE that our vacation continues and Leah is OURS!

Thanking the Lord for little things.
Mostly because a lot of big things are out of WHACK right now!

That sounds terrifying. Having a child increases your prayer life like nothing else...
And I agree...sometimes it would be nice to have a few moments (days? weeks?) of calm. I will pray that this was an isolated incident and you can relax for the rest of your vacation.

We were praying and praying! Seizures are sooo scary. Abigail had TWO when she was little. The doc said she would continue to have them...we had her anointed and she never had another and no meds. HE is faithful!

Yippee Jesus for the birth certificate...

Have a fun vacation and praying that all are well and drama-free!! xoxoxoxox
