Just Another Toddler Sunday

So far today, I've pulled used diapers out of the toilet (close, but not quite, my dear), mopped up two inches of standing water off the floor of my bathroom (after the terrific twosome bathed), mopped the same water up off the kitchen floor and the basement floor (yep, water travels), swept up Rice Krispies (as in, the entire box of them), changed Leah's clothes three times (Giardia be gone!!), reset the train on the tracks a dozen times after playing with all the trains in the house, helped a few hundred airplanes take off, and replaced Leah's socks after removal about two million times. (Okay. Maybe not that last one). I also had the following conversation:

Mommy: Seth, it is (past) time for your nap.

Seth: Annie Clare go too.

Mommy: Um, no. Seth go take a nap and Annie Clare go home.

Seth: But Annie Clare snuggle Seth.

Mommy: No, Annie Clare doesn't take naps, is not snuggling you, and you guys wouldn't settle down and sleep anyway.

Annie Clare: Yes, I do take naps sometimes and we would really sleep.  Really!!

Mommy: No. It's time to sleep Seth, and Annie Clare I'm taking you home.

Really?!?! We are having these conversations??? To be clear, Seth just had his first sleep over last week so it's on his mind. And he doesn't know the "boy girl" thing yet. Particularly with a single, not dating mama. :) But still!! Oy vey. I'm turning this issue over to Annie Clare's parents, who are way more experienced than me. Haha.

All that and the day ain't over yet.  Welcome to toddler world -- Steiner style.
